Islamabad: Finance Minister (FM) Muhammad Aurangzeb while appreciating FBR on achieving record making collection of tax in the history in December 2025 has directed to enhance the tax collection.

He was addressing Team FBR and field formations via a video link conference in Islamabad Friday.

While lauding FBR field formations performance on the highest tax collection in December 2025 has declared this performance a clear evidence of strong validation of the government's fiscal reform agenda and sustained focus on compliance, enforcement, and digitization.

Addressing field formations and Team FBR through video link FM said remarkable achievement has been made during last 18 months. Due to it the collection of December 2025 are courageous.

He said the strategy for digitization of the economy, promoting cashless transactions, and strengthening enforcement while maintaining business momentum has begun to deliver tangible and sustainable results.

During the briefing it was told to the FM, FBR collected 1,427,1 billion rupees tax which is 99 percent of monthly target of Rs 1446 billion. This is the highest tax recovery in the month of December of any year so far . This indicates better compliance and effective enforcement.

FM urged FBR field formations to further gear up their efforts and put in double efforts with hard work to deepen and broaden tax net.
