Islamabad: Former Supreme Court (SC) judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has formally announced to start legal practice.

According to media report he said he will focus on international and domestic arbitration as well as strategic legal advisory services. He will continue his current teaching work.

In his profile recorded in Linked In it has been mentioned that he tendered resignation from Supreme Court on November 13, 2025 under constitutional norms for the sake of rule of law and constitution.

Shah further stated that he will take up teaching responsibilities at Yale Law School in 2026 and at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School in 2027. He also noted that he is available for appointments as an arbitrator and mediator.

According to profile he was in the line of assuming the position of 45th Chief Justice of Pakistan but he was struck off through 26th constitutional amendment. It changed seniority structure in supreme court.

It has been said that he is serving as professor in LUMS at present.
