Kohat: Former federal minister and senator Abbass Afridi has passed away having been critically injured in Gas leakage blast.

Senator Abbas Afridi was sitting in his hujra last evening when gas leak explosion took place leaving him and three others were injured.

Police confirmed the incident, stating that the explosion was the result of accumulated gas inside the premises.

Abbas Afridi was shifted to burn centre CMH Kharian in precarious condition. He passed away therein.

According to family sources funeral prayers of Abbas Afridi will be held in Babri Banda Kohat.

Political and tribal circles have expressed deep grief and condolence over his death.
