Future of the country lies in the hands of its youth: Yousuf Raza Gillani

Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has underscored the importance of aligning educational curriculum with evolving needs of the modern age and demands of the job market.

While attending the 25th degree awarding ceremony of Iqra University Islamabad, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, as chief guest delivered a powerful message to the graduating classes of 2023 and 2024, emphasising them to embrace the changing world with knowledge, innovation, and a commitment to national progress. The ceremony, held at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, celebrated the hard work and dedication of over 500 graduates, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani highlighted the importance of education in shaping Pakistan's future and called on universities to play a pivotal role in equipping students for the demands of a rapidly evolving global landscape.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani remembered the services of Pakistan People's Party in providing admissions to schools and colleges for Muslims living in India. He further mentioned the improvement in the quality of education provided at Bahaiddin Zakaria University and said that hundreds of students were sent on fully funded scholarships abroad through Bahauddin Zakaria University

Concluding his speech, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani quoted Pakistan's founder, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, who famously said, 'Pakistan is proud of her youth, particularly the students who have always been in the forefront in the hour of trial and need. You are the nation's leaders of tomorrow and you must fully equip yourself by discipline, education and training for the arduous task lying ahead of you.'

Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani emphasized that the future of the country lies in the hands of its youth, with high hopes pinned on their capabilities.

He stated that education serves as a crucial tool for progress, fostering awareness and consciousness among the people.

Highlighting the significance of adapting to technological advancements, the Chairman Senate stressed the need for students to acquire Information Technology (IT) training alongside formal education in order to enhance their skillsets and employability.

He also acknowledged the vital role of the private sector in providing quality education and supporting the development of the youth.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani also congratulated the graduates on successful completion of their degrees, wishing them best in their future endeavors.
