Rawalpindi: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has rejected two pleas filed by PTI founder during hearing of May 9 GHQ attack case.

ATC judge Amjid Ali Shah took up the case for hearing Tuesday.

Faisal Malik and Suleman Akram Raja counsels for PTI founder appeared in the court.

Special prosecutor Zahir Shah and Ikram Amin appeared along with team.

Two petitions were filed by PTI founder

The counsels for PTI founder requested that court's proceedings regarding September 19 and footage of CCTV cameras be provided.

The second request was made that the court's proceedings be suspended till the order of high court regarding transfer of jail trial.

Counsel Faisal Malik said we don't want to become part of the court's proceedings till consultation with PTI founder.

The court remarked your meeting was arranged with PTI founder on previous hearing. He boycotted court's proceedings. You should challenge whatsapp communication in high court.

Faisal Malik counsel for Imran Khan said we have challenged whats app communication in high court. Whatsapp call cannot be considered video link. Give us time so that we may challenge the previous order of this court.

The court maintained" you go and challenge the order. The court's proceedings cannot be stopped.

Prosecutor Ikram Amin Minhas said the defence counsels boycotted the previous court's proceedings. In today's hearing it is not binding on court to give reply to any question of defence counsels. Defence counsels leave the court one day and they say on the second day give us time.

Prosecutor further said the statement of prosecution witnesses have to be recorded Trial cannot be stopped. The conduct of defence counsels is telling they are not serious for trial. Defence counsels are only wasting the time of the court.

Prosecutor Zahir Shah told the court no law is there to stop trial. The court has issued order on defence counsels plea in last hearing. Raising question on court's order falls under contempt of court.

Defence counsel Faisal Malik said we are demanding fair trial. If the accused cannot hear his counsel and counsel cannot hear his client then how it is a fair trial.

Prosecutor Zahir Shah said giving application again after boycotting court's proceedings is u-turn.

Prosecutor Zahir Shah informed the court as per Lahore High Court (LHC) order no footage , transcript can be provided to any one. Bail of Aleema Khan was approved in this court a few days back.

Suleman Akram Raja said the courts don't run on government instructions but they run as per constitution.

The court said to Suleman Akram Raja " you have every right to challenge the order of this court. The court's proceedings cannot be stopped unless high court issues any order.

Suleman Akram Raja said it is not necessary to run trial fast. Allow us to make consultation with PTI founder.

The court remarked meeting of your counsels was arranged with PTI founder last time and they started delivering speech.

Suleman Akram Raja replied we are not being allowed to meet PTI founder. The counsel follows his client instructions.

The court maintained trial court cannot ignore high court's directives and orders.

The defence counsels sought permission to talk to PTI founder. The court arranged the talk between PTI founder and defence counsels.

The defence counsels boycotted the court's proceedings due to dropping of voice and blurred figure.

The defence counsel again boycotted court's proceedings.

Defence counsels Suleman Akram Raja and Faisal Malik left the court and went out.

The court rejected both of the petitions of PTI founder after hearing the arguments of respondents.

The court recorded statements of additional director PEMRA, Nadir Khan, technical assistants of FIA, Anees ur Rehman, Muhammad Imran, deputy directors PID, Muhammad Tariq and Hasnain Wazir, former assistant commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Abdullah, Arshad Bhatti, and Bilal Ahmad section officer interior ministry.

The prosecution witnesses presented their reports in the court.

This way statements of 41 witnesses were recorded overall in GHQ attack case.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till September 27 after recording statements of 8 prosecution witnesses and summoning 2 more witnesses.
