Lahore: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan visited the head office of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, where he was warmly received by Alkhidmat President Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri, and other senior officials.During the visit, the governor was given a detailed briefing on the organisation's key departments, including disaster management, orphan care, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), microfinance, education, healthcare, Bano Qabil, and community services. Heads of respective departments apprised him of their ongoing projects and outreach efforts.Appreciating Alkhidmat's humanitarian services, the governor lauded its relief work for the oppressed people of Gaza, support for orphans in Pakistan and abroad, and timely rescue operations during natural disasters. He assured full cooperation in further strengthening these initiatives.He particularly commended the foundation's volunteer management system, noting that students from various universities and young people are actively engaged in serving humanity through Alkhidmat's platform.Referring to a recent iftar dinner hosted at the Governor House for orphaned children during Ramazan, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan described it as a memorable and honourable occasion.On the occasion, Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman presented an honorary shield to the governor and thanked him for visiting the head office. He said Alkhidmat is a public welfare organisation, adding that its donors and volunteers are its greatest asset.He further said that Alkhidmat Foundation enjoys strong cooperation with federal and provincial governments in various welfare and relief projects. Highlighting joint efforts for Gaza relief, he noted that aid sent in collaboration with the government prominently carries Pakistan's flag, which is a matter of pride for the nation.
