Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the government's commitment to provide conducive environment for businesses and investment in the country.
PM Shehbaz Sharif was talking to a delegation of Presidents of Chambers of Commerce from across the country who called on him in Islamabad on Friday. The Prime Minister said the government and people of Pakistan are determined to economic progress of the country, building on their spirit of historic victory in Marka-e-Haq and Operation Banyanum Marsoos.
He highlighted that the government is implementing policy of ease of doing business to lower the cost of businesses and facilitate the investors.
The Prime Minister informed the delegation that several steps have been taken to promote small and medium enterprises.
He underscored the need for public-private partnerships and mobilizing private sector for achieving economic self-reliance.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also emphasized introducing modern technology in domestic industries.
The Prime Minister said government will provide full support to women entrepreneurs to enable them play a dynamic role in the development of the country.
On the occasion, the delegation paid tribute to the Prime Minister and the Pakistani armed forces for achieving a historic victory in the Marka-e-Haq. The delegation expressed its gratitude to the Prime Minister for improvement in the country's economy and businesses due to prudent economic policies.
The delegation said performance of the stock exchange has gradually improved over the past two years, indicating that the government's economic policy is in the right direction.
The delegation reiterated its full support to the government in its initiatives for development of the country and public welfare.
The delegation praised the reforms in FBR and presented suggestions to make them more business-friendly.
The delegation also presented its budget proposals for the next fiscal year. The Prime Minister asked the Federal Finance Minister to consider the suggestions.
