Islamabad: Federal government has announced to reduce sales tax on solar panel.

Speaking in National Assembly (NA) Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Ishaq Dar announced to reduce sales tax from 18 percent to 10 percent on solar panel in budget.

Ishaq Dar said government has reviewed some budget proposals. Consultation with allied parties is continuing on budget. Sales tax on digital services is right of the provinces.

He said amount allocated for universities in Sindh is being increased from Rs 2.6 billion to Rs 4.6 billion.

It is pertinent to mention here government had announced to impose 18 percent sales tax on solar panels in the budget for the year 2025-26 which was rejected by standing committee for finance.
