Islamabad: Decision has been taken to get pass the 27th constitutional amendment from both the houses till November 14.

As per media reports, it was decided in the meeting of House Business Advisory Committee under the speaker of National Assembly ( NA) that the amendment will be got approved from Senate first.

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has cancelled the foreign visits of federal ministers and members of parliament to ensure approval of the amendment.

64 votes are required for approval of the amendment in Senate. A 61-member ruling coalition will require the support of 3 senators of JUI-F or ANP.

224 votes are required in NA for approval of amendment .

Sources said government enjoys support of 237 members in NA including 125 from PML-N, 74 from PPP and 22 from MQM.

5 Members of Pakistan Muslim League, 4 of Pakistan Istehkam Party and one each of Muslim League Zia group, National Party, Balochistan Awami Party are also part of ruling alliance.

Speaking in the NA, PTI chairman Barrister Gohar termed 27th constitutional amendment against the spirit of the constitution.
