Govt decides to grant subsidy of Rs 23 billion to low income people

Islamabad: Federal government has decided to grant subsidy of Rs 23 billion which will accrue under austerity policy.

Secretary petroleum said in the meeting of Senate standing committee for petroleum government has decided to give subsidy of Rs 23 billion to be accrued from austerity policy. This subsidy will be provided to motorcyclists and Rickshaw drivers. Rs 30 million subsidy will be given to two wheelers and three wheelers.

As per authorities subsidy will be given to the deserving people as per Benazir Income Support Program data.

As per media reports OGRA and Petroleum division have started working in this regard.

What saving will accrue under austerity policy , will be given in subsidy.

Committee members said this amount of Rs 23 billion will come from where. What steps have been taken. The benefit of money be given to the people instead of companies.

The authorities replied several steps have been taken for saving under the directives of PM.
