Govt declares 26 KP districts hard area, approves security risk allowance for federal administrative police officers

Peshawar: Federal government has declared 26 districts of 6 regions of KP hard area besides approving security risk allowance for eligible federal administrative and police officers.

As per media reports, a letter has been received by chief secretary KP from establishment division Islamabad wherein 26 districts of 6 regions of province have been declared hard area.

As per context of letter the districts which are affected by terrorism include Peshawar, Khyber, Mardan, Charsada, Mohmand, Nowshehra, Kohat, Hangu, Kirk, Kurram, Orakzai,Bannu, Lakki Marwat, North Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, South Waziristan, upper and lower Swat, Bunir, Shangla, Bajore, Dir Upper and Lower and Chitral upper and lower.

.The letter said security risk allowance has been approved for federal administrative and police officers in terrorism affected districts which will apply from July 01, 2026.

According to letter, the allowance will be 250 percent of basic pay which will immediately cease on transfer of officer. Payment of allowance will be made by federal government. income tax will also be applicable to it. Security allowance will not be paid during suspension, OSD, Joining time and training. Security allowance will not be enumerated as pension and gratuity.

It has been mentioned in the letter security risk allowance will not be paid to the officers in district Swabi and Hazara division.
