Islamabad: Government has started work in connection with 27th constitutional amendment.

Federal government has handed over the proposed draft to PPP in this regard .

Consultations will be made with other parties as well following the reaction from PPP.

According to sources the proposed 27th constitutional amendment include amendment in clause-3 of article-160, article 213, article 243, article 191-A and other articles.

Proposal is there to do away with clause 3 of article 160. The proposal for enhancing powers of federation in connection with NFC formula too is included therein. Amendment has been proposed in article 213 regarding procedure for appointment of chief election commissioner and members of election commission.

It is also proposed to abolish article 191-A and include new article for establishment of constitutional courts.

Amendment in article 243 related to armed forces has also been proposed.

Proposals are under consideration for amendment in article 200 regarding transfer of judges and amendment in schedule 2 or 3 of 18th constitutional amendment on returning education and population related matters to federation.
