Islamabad: Government has worked out a long term relief package for industrial and agriculture consumers under which enormous curtailment is likely in electricity tariff.

As per media reports, government is working out a long term relief package for agriculture and industrial consumers under which the price of per unit of the electricity is likely to be scaled down by Rs 14 for three years.

The electricity tariff for agriculture and industrial consumers is likely to be fixed Rs 23.50 per unit.

Sources have said power division has evolved 3 years relief package for agriculture and industrial consumers.

According to sources power tariff from Rs 22 to Rs 23.50 per unit will be fixed for consumers using additional electricity.

At present the agriculture consumers are paying bill at the rate of Rs 38 per unit and industrial consumers Rs 34 per unit.

Power division will present relief package to Prime Minister for approval.

As per sources PM Shehbaz Sharif will announce this relief package within a few days.
