Murree: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has strongly criticized the Government of Pakistan for reportedly recommending U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. Calling the move "shameful," "against national dignity," and a reflection of a "slave mentality,"

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed his outrage in a statement on the social media platform X. "Donald Trump has openly supported Israel in the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza," Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said. "He described Israel's attack on Iran as 'excellent' and is issuing direct threats to Tehran. At a time when U.S. naval bases are advancing in the region and Washington is providing full military backing to Israel, nominating Trump for a peace prize is nothing short of a mockery."

He further noted that Trump played no role in ending the war in Ukraine; rather, the conflict has only intensified. "Peace across the Middle East is in ruins, and yet our government talks about nominating Trump for a peace award. This is tragic and exposes the mindset of subservience."

Meanwhile addressing participants at Jamaat-e-Islami's social media camp in Murree, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman urged the government to resolve the issue of missing persons and address the grievances of Balochistan. He also called for affordable and quality education for the youth.

Commenting on recent political developments, he said that Jamaat-e-Islami has temporarily postponed its movement against excessive electricity prices and unjust IPP agreements due to the evolving regional situation. However, he noted that the party's campaign had succeeded in raising public awareness, and the government has now shown willingness to revisit those agreements.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasized the urgent need for a complete overhaul of the current system. "This system has failed to deliver justice. For the past 78 years, it has been run by a nexus of the establishment, bureaucracy, and feudal elite. PML-N, PPP, and PTI are all cut from the same cloth-they jointly extended the tenure of the former army chief and continue to vote for salary increases for themselves."

He called upon the youth to play a vital role in systemic change, use social media to spread the message of Islam, and raise their voices for the rights of Palestinians and Kashmiris. "Only an Islamic system can truly address the suffering of humanity," he concluded.
