KARACHI:A major step towards improving educational facilities and rehabilitating urban infrastructure in Federal B Area will be marked tomorrow, October 21, as Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman inaugurates Abu Turab School, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Tech Space, and road and street rehabilitation projects under the Gulberg Transformation Project.
According to Gulberg Town Chairman Nusrat Ullah, these initiatives aim to provide residents with better educational facilities, access to modern technology education, and improved urban infrastructure.
He stated that Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Tech Space will provide students with opportunities to learn modern technologies and receive practical training, helping them develop skills relevant to the needs of the future.
Nusrat Ullah said that the complete rehabilitation of Abu Turab School in Block 17 is another important achievement. Previously, the school's roof leaked during the rainy season, plaster was peeling off the walls, weeds had spread across the premises, and the washrooms were unusable. The school has now been fully rehabilitated, providing students with a better and safer learning environment.
He further explained that following the installation of new gas pipelines in Federal B Area Blocks 17, 18, 19 and 20, rehabilitation work on roads and internal streets is underway. Under the Gulberg Transformation Project, 70 roads and 300 internal streets are being constructed and rehabilitated at an estimated cost of Rs. 400 million.
The Town Chairman said that the primary objective of these development projects is to improve commuting facilities, address the problems caused by deteriorating roads and streets, and enhance residents' quality of life through improved civic infrastructure.
He added that the rehabilitation of educational institutions, access to modern technology education, and improvements in basic civic facilities are important steps towards building a better and more developed Gulberg.
