Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasizes the need to ensure the provision of quality education in the remote areas of Gilgit-Baltistan

Lahore: Students from Gilgit-Baltistan met with Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman at Mansoorah. During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the educational and social issues of Gilgit-Baltistan.The delegation, led by Nazim Islami Jamiat Talaba Gilgit, Shafiqur Rehman, informed the Emir Jamaat-e-Islami about their issues and presented their demands. Supporting the students' demands, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that the government should accept the demands of Diamer 'Haq Do Dam Banao' MovementHe emphasized the need for special scholarships and grants for students from Gilgit-Baltistan. He also called for the establishment of a women's university in the region to provide female students with access to higher education.Criticizing the ruling elite, he said that the government has completely failed in providing healthcare and education facilities to the public. He pointed out that while the elite send their children abroad for education, the poor struggle to afford even basic necessities. He further stated that education has become class-based, exploitative, expensive, and out of the reach of the underprivileged.He emphasized the need to ensure the provision of quality education in the remote areas of Gilgit-Baltistan. He called for the immediate establishment of medical and technical colleges, training students in modern IT skills, and providing high-speed internet facilities.Declaring the students' demands as completely justified, he assured them that Jamaat-e-Islami would raise their issues on every possible platform. He also stressed that access to quality education, improved infrastructure, and employment opportunities is a fundamental right of every young person, and Jamaat-e-Islami would make every effort to achieve this.Meanwhile, in a statement issued from Mansoorah, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman strongly condemned the Barkhan incident, expressing deep sorrow and regret over the loss of precious lives. He stated that the repeated incidents of terrorism in Balochistan are deeply distressi ng and raise serious concerns about the country's security.Expressing heartfelt condolences to the affected families, he urged the government to take immediate and concrete steps to restore law and order in Balochistan. He further said that anti-state elements have once again carried out a terrorist attack in Barkhan, and it is the government's responsibility to ensure peace in the province.
