Abbotabad: A ‘Haq Do Hazara Movement Convention’ was organized under the banner of Jamaat-e-Islami Hazara Province, bringing together leaders from various political, religious, and social groups along with a large number of participants from across the Hazara region. People from all schools of thought attended the convention in large numbers, regardless of political affiliation, to support the demand for the establishment of Hazara Province.
During the convention, speakers unanimously declared the creation of Hazara Province as inevitable and announced a joint strategy. They also expressed their commitment to developing a comprehensive future plan through mutual consultation to advance the movement.
Prominent speakers included Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hazara Province Abdul Razzaq Abbasi, Central President of Tehreek-e-Suba Hazara Sultan-ul-Arifeen Khan, former President High Court Bar Khurram Ghiyas Advocate, Haji Ayaz Khan (Aman Forum), Naseer Khan Jadun, Kamran Advocate, Wazir Khan Oghi, Maulana Sarfaraz Farooq (Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith), Sarfaraz Khan Jadun (PPP), President Press Club Sardar Naveed Alam, former provincial assembly candidate Amjad Khan Jadun, District Ameer Ubaid-ur-Rehman Abbasi, Khalid Khan Advocate Oghi, M.M. Rashid Awan, Bilal Khan Jadun and others.
The speakers highlighted that Hazara is a region rich in natural resources. They stated that nearly 50% of the country’s energy production comes from this region alone. In addition, Hazara possesses world-class minerals such as granite, phosphate, and soapstone, along with vast forests and significant tourism potential. Despite these resources, the people of Hazara have faced deprivation due to the unfair distribution of resources.
They emphasized that the establishment of Hazara Province has become essential to address these grievances and is a unanimous demand of all communities residing in the region. The speakers clarified that this demand is not based on linguistic differences but on administrative grounds, aiming to improve governance and ensure fair access to public services.
The convention also reaffirmed the commitment to continue the struggle for Hazara Province beyond political affiliations. To strengthen the ‘Haq Do Movement,’ it was decided that similar conventions would be held in other districts including Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, Haripur, and Kohistan. Participants also resolved to prepare formal documentation and a clear roadmap for the movement.
Speakers strongly criticized those political figures who contested elections in the name of Hazara Province but failed to pursue the cause after coming into power. They also expressed regret that even FIRs could not be registered for those who sacrificed their lives for the cause.
At the conclusion of the convention, participants reiterated their resolve to continue a united struggle until the establishment of Hazara Province is achieved.
