Home secretary directed to decide application regarding Facilitation Centers in police stations

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has wrapped up the matter of establishment of Police Khidmat Marakiz (Facilitation Centers) in police stations.

The court directed home secretary Punjab to make decision on the application as per law.

Justice Amjid Pervaiz of LHC issued written order on the petition of Yasin Zia. Home secretary Punjab, IG Punjab and others have been made respondents in the petition.

According to written decision the petitioner took the plea establishing Police Khidmat Marakiz (Facilitation Centers) in police stations in Punjab are must. Most of the applicants who come in police stations are poor and their disputes can be resolved through reconciliation.

According to the petitioner the difficulties of the poor clients can be curtailed through establishment of Police Khidmat Marakiz (Facilitation Centers) in police stations.

However home secretary Punjab is not deciding the application regarding establishment of Police Khidmat Marakiz (Facilitation Centers) in police stations

The petitioner had requested the court to order home secretary Punjab to decide the application.

The court while directing home secretary Punjab to decide the application as per law wrapped up the petition.

It was said in the written decision the petition is wrapped up with the said instructions to home secretary.
