Rawalpindi: President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, said that it is a matter of pride for the people of Pakistan to have the honor of hosting students from Gaza.Dr. Hafeezur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held to mark the completion of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degrees by 27 Palestinian students from Gaza, and during a conversation with the media persons.The event was attended by Palestinian Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Zaid, Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Air Marshal (R) Arshad Malik, Dean of Al-Azhar University Gaza Dr. Muhammad Riaz Zagboor, leader of Doctors of Rehman UK Dr. Yousaf Sheikh, Chairman Alkhidmat Health Dr. Zahid Latif, National Director Alkhidmat Education Dr. Ahmed Jibran, President Alkhidmat Europe Dr. Hamid Farooq, Chairman University of Lahore Awais Raoof, Dr. Saad Zafar of Riphah International University, along with faculty members and prominent figures from various fields.Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman stated that Alkhidmat Foundation, in collaboration with its partner welfare and educational organizations, is providing scholarships to 409 students from Gaza in Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan. These scholarships cover education, accommodation, food, medical facilities, and also include a monthly cash award, he remarked.He further said four batches of Palestinian students have completed their graduation, and ceremonies in their honor were held in Istanbul (Turkey), PMDC Islamabad, Fauji Foundation University Islamabad, and the University of Lahore.Dr. Hafeezur Rehman further stated that Alkhidmat has dispatched 3,800 tons of relief goods for Gaza. These relief efforts are a result of joint initiatives by the Pakistani nation through Alkhidmat Foundation, the federal government, and NDMA. A total of 20 special aircraft and 4 ships from Pakistan have carried the relief supplies to Gaza, he added.He added that Alkhidmat Foundation has also established a camp office in Cairo, Egypt, and continues to serve the victims of Gaza, including sponsorships for children and affected families.
