If any citizen provides shelter to terrorists or stores explosive material in home then he will have to face its consequences: DG ISPR

Rawalpindi: Director General (DG) of Inter Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said if any citizen provides shelter to terrorists or stores explosive material in home then he will have to face its consequences.

"Army has no interest in it that it takes life of innocent people in the name of terrorism. Military officers, Jawans and citizens are rendering sacrifices every day to keep Pakistan independent. Operation in any area succeeds at that time when people themselves identify the terrorists therein. When army goes back then the terrorists will return again, he made these remarks during an interactive session with students from Balochistan as part of the ISPR internship program.

The discussion covered various aspects of Pakistan's security and development, with special emphasis on Balochistan.

On the demand for major operation in Balochistan against terrorism he said it is put in our minds that some thing is breeding in people and youth of Balochistan for Pakistan. People of Balochistan understand the relations between Pakistan and province well.

He added that Major Muhammad Anwar Kakar, was our great and excellent officer and was great son of this land.

Major Muhammad Anwar Kakar earlier killed several terrorists in PC Hotel Gawadar attack.

We will have to do all this with wisdom. Therefore, it is named intelligence based operation.

We have to work together with people and administration of Balochistan. We have to bring to fore terrorists, their facilitators and planners. Punishment for terrorism of one person cannot be given to entire area or entire village. People of that area have to stand against the terrorism on their own and they are standing.

He underlined people of Balochistan are now telling the terrorists are here and that is their facilitator. People of Balochistan have now become fed up with terrorists. Go to Balochistan and see how much wise and far sighted are people of Balochistan.

The ISPR chief also spoke on Pakistan's founding principles, stressing that the country was established on the basis of the Kalma, beyond linguistic or regional differences.

The DG ISPR concluded that the essence of Pakistan -"La ilaha illallah"- is embedded in the country's citizens, reinforcing unity beyond ethnic or regional identity.
