IHC adjourns hearing of Imaan Mazari, Hadi Chatha pleas seeking suspension of sentence


Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned till June 04 hearing of pleas filed by Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha seeking suspension of their sentence in Controversial tweet case.



Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the case. However the proceedings could not move forward due to non availability of Special Prosecution Team (SPT).



The court was told 3 members of prosecution team have been appointed. One among them has to come from Lahore and one is in court No 1 at present.



Justice Azam Khan said my name was nominated for A mediation training. I am here only for this case,



The court remarked do you know there is Supreme Court (SC) order in this case. During the hearing of the case counsel Riasat Ali Azad took the plea the time given by SC has expired.



Justice Azam Khan remarked we have fixed these petitions in the light of SC order.



Counsel Faisal Siddiqui said please hear the case when prosecutor becomes free from court No 1.



Justice Muhammad Azam Khan remarked I missed my training class scheduled for 8.30 morning.



Upon it the prosecutor requested the court for fixing the case for hearing on Thursday or next Monday.



Justice Azam Khan inquired from Faisal Siddiqui advocate will he be available on Thursday. I am fixing case on Thursday.



The counsel Faisal Siddiqui requested the court to make it binding on prosecution not to seek further adjournment.



Justice Azam Khan remarked it does not seem good to say again and again. We all are bound to the order of SC.



The hearing of the case was adjourned till June 4.
