IHC directs Ministry of Foreign Affairs & FIA to take prompt measures for the release & safe return of Migrants Pakistani citizens detained in Myanmar

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court, under the bench of Justice MianGul Hassan Aurangzeb, has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take prompt measures for the release and safe return of Migrants Pakistani citizens detained in Myanmar.The writ petition, filed through Nisar Shah Advocate CEO of Legal Support Foundation on behalf of the families of the detainees, highlights the plight of the victims who were lured to Thailand and Malaysia with promises of lucrative jobs. Upon arrival, they were abducted and transported to Myanmar, where they remain under detention.The court, recognizing the gravity of the matter, has issued notices to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and FIA, instructing them to ensure the safe recovery and repatriation of the detainees. Justice MianGul Hassan Aurangzeb has ordered the authorities to submit a comprehensive report by January 15, 2025.The Legal Support Foundation, dedicated to providing free legal aid to marginalized communi ties, stands with the affected families and remains committed to advocating for the rights of these detainees. The organization urges the relevant authorities to act swiftly and ensure the safe return of these individuals to their families.
