Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed secretary Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appear before it in person along with documents today (Thursday) in the case for preventing journalists from making coverage of cricket matches.IHC has issued notices to all respondents including PCB besides seeking reply from PCB for not issuing accredition cards to the journalists.Justice Babar Sattar took up the case for hearing Wednesday.Senior lawyer Abdul Wahid Qureshi appeared on behalf of the journalists.Justice Babar Sattar remarked making coverage is basic right of the journalists. Reporting and analyzing is basic right under the constitution.The court summoned secretary PCB today.The court adjourned the hearing of the case for one day.It is pertinent to mention here Sports journalists had filed petition in IHC for preventing the journalists by PCB on August 27 from making coverage of matches .The petition was filed through advocate Abdul Wahid Qureshi. Senior journalists Ayyaz Akbar,Mohsi n Ali, Hasnain Liaqat,Navid Gulzar and Ahmar Najib had filed the petition.Through this petition federation, patron in chief Prime Minister .secretary cabinet and chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi were also made respondents.
