Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected the petition filed against JIT constituted to probe into negative propaganda on social media.

IHC dismissed the petition filed by PTI leader Sheikh Waqas Akram against constitution of JIT for investigation into negative propaganda on social media being not contested.

Case was called twice on the occasion of hearing but neither Sheikh Waqas Akram nor his counsel appeared .

Later Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas dismissed the petition filed against the constitution of JIT being not persuaded.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sheikh Waqas Akram had challenged JIT constituted under PECA in connection with investigation into negative propaganda on social media.

IHC had directed during previous hearing Sheikh Waqas Akram and others to appear in JIT.

JIT had called PTI leadership and social media activists for investigation.
