IHC issues notice on the appeal pleas against the conviction of Imaan Mazari, Hadi Ali Chattha, seeks reply


Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice on the appeal pleas against conviction of Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in controversial tweets case. The court while issuing notice on the petitions regarding suspension of sentences of Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha has sought reply from NCCIA.



Faisal Siddiqui, Zainab Janjua and others appeared on behalf of Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha during the hearing of the case. Faisal Siddiqui advocate took the plea transfer petition was still pending and the trial court gave the decision.



He told the court the statement of two witnesses was recorded in the absence of the accused. Faisal Siddiqui said it happened strange when decision came then judge removed one paragraph from it. He said if punishment has to be given then give it ten times but trial be conducted.



Justice Muhammad Asif remarked during the hearing of the case We are issuing notice. Faisal Siddiqui made request upon it that close date be given on the petition seeking suspension of the conviction. He said he comes from Karachi therefore date be fixed on the day when he comes here.



Justice Muhammad Asif inquired when will you come. Faisal Siddiqui advocate said date be fixed for Monday or Tuesday. The court while issuing notice adjourned the further hearing of the case.
