Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) during the hearing of case on tracing and facilitating safe return of 50 missing Pakistanis to home from other countries has issued notice to federation and sought report from Assistant Attorney General (AAG).
The petition seeking return of over 50 citizens of Tehsil Phalia Mandi Baha ud Din from other countries came up for hearing before Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir Tuesday.
Lawyer Shafqat Abbas Tarar appeared in the court on behalf of petitioner Afzal Hussain.
The counsel for the petitioner told the court petitioner belongs to Tehsil Phalia of Mandi Baha ud Din . Over 50 youths from Phalia went abroad during the last 3 years through unconventional sources. No clue has been found in respect of these youths since then.
It has been requested in the petition foreign ministry be directed to conduct counselor inquiry in respect of missing Pakistani citizens in different countries. The missing persons be traced out through respective Pakistani embassies and consulates. The immigration, travelling and other available record in respect of missing Pakistanis be scrutinized. The respective authorities be directed to take action as per law when the possible offence comes to open.
Proper arrangements be made for safe return of missing Pakistani citizens from abroad.
During the hearing of the case the court summoned AAG on rostrum and said AG should see this matter and file report on next hearing.
The court while issuing notice to government adjourned hearing of the case till November 2.
