Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued stay order against Islamabad Election Tribunal (IET) on the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate, Shoaib Shaheen.The court has restrained IET from initiating proceedings to the extent of election petition of Shoaib Shaheen.The stay order applies to Shaheen's petition in NA-47 and IET remains free to proceed with cases related to the other two constituencies in IslamabadThe court while issuing notice to the respondents has sought reply from them.Tariq Fazal Chaudhry from PML-N was elected Member National Assembly (MNA) from NA-47 and Shoaib Shaheen has challenged his victory.The IET has fixed case in respect of three constituencies of Islamabad on December 24.The petition filed by Shoaib Shaheen PTI candidate from NA-47 regarding IET came up for hearing before Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamer Farooq Thursday.The court issued stay order after hearing petition filed by Shoaib Shaheen.The court halted IET from initiating proceedings to the extent of election petition filed by PTI candidate Shoaib Shaheen.The court also issued notice to the respondents and sought reply from them.Shoaib Shaheen has challenged constitution of IET. He had resorted to IHC against IET decision.
