Islamabad: Petition has been filed in Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking imposition of ban on entry into Faisal Mosque in inappropriate dress and making videos therein.
A citizen has filed constitutional petition in IHC for the protection of sanctity of Faisal Mosque.
The petition said it has been observed from viral videos on social media that some people make inappropriate videos in Faisal Mosque. The videos which are made with music and dance desecrate the sanctity and dignity of the mosque.
It was said in the petition that the videos made in the mosque in semi nude dresses are against the sanctity of mosque. Desecration of sanctity of mosque is sheer violation of the right to freedom of religion under article 20 of the constitution.
Written complaints were sent to in charge mosque, deputy commissioner Islamabad and chairman CDA but no action was taken.
The petition said written complaints were sent to minster for religious affairs, president International Islamic university and IG Islamabad.
Ban be imposed on entry into mosque in obscene or inappropriate dress and making videos with dance and mosque.
Incharge Faisal Mosque, deputy commissioner Islamabad, chairman CDA, ministry for religious affairs, president International Islamic university, IG Police and state have been made respondents in the petition.
