Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought record of two different petitions on contempt of court plea against interior secretary and superintendent Adiala jail for not arranging PTI founder Imran Khan meeting with his friends despite court's order.

The court directed to attach high court January 28, 2025 order with the petition.

IHC Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas of IHC heard PTI founder petition along with objections by registrar office.

Faisal Chaudhry counsel for Imran Khan agued that the Registrar's Office is not authorised to decide whether petitions are admissible or otherwise. Only the court can exercise powers regarding the maintainability of the petition.

Faisal Chaudhry advocate said contempt of court has been filed due to violation of court's orders.

The petition regarding meeting with PTI founder and Bushra Bibi is pending hearing in the court of chief justice. This petition has been filed for not arranging meeting of PTI founder with his friends. This petition has nothing to do with the petition pending hearing in the court of chief justice.

Faisal Chaudhry said superintendent Adiala jail had given statement in the court of Justice Sardar Ejaz Khan for arranging meeting . Court had wrapped up petition in the light of statement but meeting was not arranged despite this assurance.

The court while summoning record of both contempt petitions adjourned the hearing of the case.
