IHC seeks report from HEC on the steps against narcotics in educational institutions

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought report from HEC on the steps against narcotics in educational institutions of Islamabad.

During the hearing of the case on eradication of narcotics in Educational institutions mention about Anmol alias Pinky arrested in narcotics case was also made.

The court directed education ministry to get approve rules regarding eradication of narcotics from federal government besides directing HEC to include ANF and Police in monitoring committee.

Citing to Pinky case, Kashif Malik the counsel for the petitioner said one case is running in Karachi wherein it has been said that rider and delivery boys are involved.

Justice Raja Inam Amin remarked I have been saying from the first day narcotics is transferred through rider and delivery boy.

According to HEC authorities we have allocated one place for rider and delivery boy in educational institutions. Whosoever a rider or delivery boy comes his checking is conducted first.

IHC ordered regular monitoring be conducted in educational institutions and report be presented. District administration too should take steps against narcotics and conduct monitoring.

Counsel Kashif Malik argued the use of narcotics is common in schools too after universities and colleges. Now the students of 7th and 8th class use narcotics.

Counsel Rafa advocate said narcotics is available at karyana store.

The court directed Islamabad police to take action against narcotics besides monitoring

Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas while making mention of DSP Legal Sajid Cheema during the hearing of the case remarked where is DSP Legal Sajid Cheema. He was doing good work in this case.

Newly appointed inspector legal replied Sajid Cheema is DSP Headquarters now.

Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas remarked the officer who is doing good job is transferred.

The court also directed media to launch awareness campaign against the narcotics in prime time.

The court sought report from PEMRA on awareness campaign in media.

The court sought monitoring report on elimination of narcotics in educational institutions from HEC, Police and district administration.

HEC, interior ministry authorities, Deputy Attorney General Faisal Irfan, , ANF prosecutor Rana Zulfiqar and counsel for PEMRA appeared in the court.

Hearing of the case was adjourned till last week of June.
