Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has wrapped up contempt of court case against former Chief Judge Gilgit-Baltistan (CJGB) Rana Shamim and others after three years.

The court wrapped up the case of contempt of court against former Chief Judge GB with reference to his alleged affidavit in support of Nawaz Sharif in Panama case being in- fructuous.

Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar heard the case. Former chief judge GB Rana Shamim did not appear in the court.

The counsel Amir Abdullah told the court former chief judge Rana Shamim had filed apology and later his case was not fixed. Now this case has become in-fructuous.

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) said this case has been fixed after a long period. Only Rana Shamim was to be indicted in this case.

DAG told the court Rana Shamim had filed apology in the court in last hearings.

CJ IHC Sarfraz Dogar said we then wrap up this case.

Affidavit of Rana Shamim regarding decision in PANAMA case was published in news paper.

Former CJ IHC Athar Minallah while taking notice of matter of affidavit had initiated contempt of court proceedings.
