Lahore: The step of imposing section 144 in Lahore for six days has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).Citizen Malik Najullah filed miscellaneous petition in LHC making government of Punjab and Deputy Commissioner Lahore respondents.The petition said imposing section 144 is illegal and unconstitutional. Constitution of Pakistan gives right to citizens to protest.The petitioner has requested the court through petition to nullify the notification regarding slapping section 144 from October 3 to October 8 in Lahore.It is pertinent to mention here government of Punjab had imposed section 144 in Lahore for six days a day before whereby political gathering of every kind, dharnas, public meetings, demonstrations, protest and all such like activities have been banned.
