Lahore: Imposition of section 144 in Punjab has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).

The petition was filed by a citizen through Azhar Siddique advocate making Punjab government, home secretary Punjab and deputy commissioners respondents.

The petitioner has taken plea in the petition that section 144 was imposed in Punjab on political basis. Section 144 has been imposed in Punjab to prevent PTI peaceful protest.

The petitioner has requested the court to nullify the notification regarding imposition of section 144 besides suspending the imposition of section 144 till the final order of the case.
