Imran Khan files acquittal plea in 190 million pounds reference following the restoration of NAB amendments bill

Rawalpindi: Following the restoration of NAB amendments Bill by Supreme Court (SC), PTI founder has decided to seek relief in the cases with filing first acquittal plea in Accountability Court (AC) through his lawyers.190 million pounds reference came up for hearing before judge Nasir Javed Raja of AC in Adiala Jail Saturday.PTI founder filed his first acquittal plea in the court following restoration of NAB amendments bill by apex court.The defence counsels said the acquittal plea of Bushra Bibi has already been filed in this reference. The PTI founder plea be clubbed with Bushra Bibi acquittal plea.NAB counsels while opposing Imran Khan plea said this court can hear only that reference which falls in its jurisdiction powers. This case is not affected due to SC decision. The defence lawyers should have challenged the jurisdiction powers first of all but they came to acquittal plea. If the court cannot hear this reference then how can it acquit. The jurisdiction powers should be determined before acq uittal.The court while issuing notice to NAB on the acquittal plea of the accused adjourned the hearing of the case till September 10.
