Islamabad: The main flag hoisting ceremony was held at Pakistan Monument in Islamabad where Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hoisted the national flag.
Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, cabinet members, parliamentarians and school students were present on the occasion.
As the prime minister arrived at the venue, the children attired in national cultural dresses, presented him flowers.
Prime Minister Shehbaz, who wore black sherwani over white shalwar and kameez, hoisted the national flag as the crowd stood in respect.
The ceremony also marked the playing of the national anthem and national songs.
Later, the prime minister laid a wreath at the monument, offering prayers for Pakistan's development, progress, and prosperity.
On the occasion, special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country.
A flag hoisting ceremony was held on Thursday at the Pakistan Television Headquarters in Islamabad.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar unfurled the national flag to mark the occasion.
Later speaking on the occasion, he commended PTV's role in uplifting the nation's morale during the Marka-e-Haq. He said this Independence Day not only celebrates freedom but also commemorates Pakistan's triumph in the Marka-e-Haq. He said the military victory has sent a powerful message that the people and armed forces of Pakistan remain resolute in defending their independence.
Attaullah Tarar further emphasized that Pakistan has successfully won the narrative and information warfare on the ideological front.
The ceremony was attended by Secretary Information and Managing Director Ambreen Jan, Director General of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Saeed Ahmed Shaikh, as well as officers from the Ministry of Information, Radio Pakistan, and the Pakistan Television Corporation.
