Islamabad: Foreign Office (FO) has said water is matter of life and death for Pakistan and if India tries to stop flow of water or divert the direction then it will be considered a war act.
This was said by FO spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan at a weekly press briefing here on Friday.
The FO spokesman said Pakistan's armed forces were highly alert and fully prepared for sovereignty and defence of the borders and people.
He said India has no unilateral power to revoke the agreement. Diplomatic contacts are taking place on this matter. However no one has offered arbitration on this matter so far.
We reserve the right to suspend bilateral agreements including Shimla accord.
Pakistan categorically rejects Indian decision regarding suspension of Indus Waters Treaty (IWT).
According to spokesperson we reiterate our policy on IWT. This is matter of life of 250 millions people.
In view of irresponsible attitude of India Pakistan reserves the right to suspend all bilateral agreements including IWT.
He held an important meeting of National Security Council (NSC) was held on Thursday. In the meeting
the threat hidden in the statement given by India was denounced. It was demanded that international community should take notice of violation of international laws by India, murder incidents in other countries and terrorism related incidents.
He said He said the Wagah Border is closed forthwith and Indian flights could no more use Pakistan's airspace. Those who have to return till April 30, 2025 will be allowed.
Visas of all Indian citizens under SAARC Visa Scheme have been revoked. Only Sikh Yatris will be exempted.
Indian Naval, Air and Defence advisors have been declared persona non grata and have been ordered to leave Pakistan till April 30.
Decision has been taken to limit the office staff of Indian high commission to 30.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was on an official visit to Pakistan from 20-21 April 2025. During the visit, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan called on the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

At the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, Ambassador Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe, visited Pakistan from 21-22 April 2025.
