Indian court turns down JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik’s plea in fake case

Srinagar: In Jammu, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian TADA court has dismissed an application filed by illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, seeking prior intimation of prosecution witnesses in a fake case registered against him by Indian agencies.

According to media reports, the court rejected Malik's plea seeking five days' advance notice of prosecution witnesses in the fake 1990 IAF personnel killing case. The 3rd Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, designated as Special Judge under TADA and the NIA Act, dismissed the application in CBI vs Mohammad Yasin Malik and others, arising out of an FIR registered under several black laws.

The defence had argued that without prior information about the witnesses in the 36-year-old case, the jailed Yasin Malik was deprived of a fair opportunity to prepare for effective cross-examination.
