Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Friday said there was clear evidence of Indian funding for what he described as mischief-making elements, adding that those associated with the banned Joint Action Committee were accountable before the nation.

Speaking to the media, the minister said Pakistan's victory against India had been acknowledged internationally and maintained that the country had achieved significant successes not only on the military front but also on the diplomatic front.

He alleged that anti-Pakistan propaganda had been spread through various social media platforms and claimed that artificial intelligence had been used to manipulate old videos and falsely link them to events in Kashmir.

The minister said the alleged nexus between India and the banned Joint Action Committee had been established, adding that investigations into an arrested suspect were continuing.

Attaullah Tarar said countering misinformation and disinformation was the government's responsibility and reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to peace.

He also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan's international standing and prestige had improved.

The minister expressed confidence that Pakistan would continue its journey towards progress and development.
