Tehran: Iran Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam has said that Iran from last night through Sunday afternoon experienced a calm and peaceful situation. He said Tehran and other major cities, in particular, witnessed no significant disturbances.

'Internet connectivity was temporarily disrupted due to security consideration and threats posed by terrorists, as well as documented external interference,' he added.

He said, 'The wise and discerning Iranian people, fully aware of the enemies' conspiracies and attempts to destabilize the country, have clearly distanced themselves from terrorists and rioters. As in the past, the Iranian nation will be able to overcome this challenging phase safely, with resilience and steadfastness.'

Meanwhile, according to Iran Embassy in Islamabad, 'Axios quoted US government sources as saying: The assessment of US intelligence agencies is that the [Iranian] protests lack sufficient energy to challenge the stability of the country. Mostly gatherings in the North Western area of Tehran, but virtually the rest of the city is entirely calm.'
