Iran would never forget support extended by Pakistan during the war: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian

Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said his country attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan.

Talking to Interior Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, who called on him in Tehran, he said Iran would never forget support extended by Pakistan during the war.

The Iranian President said the Zionist regime is trying to create rift among Muslim countries, emphasizing that unity and harmony among Islamic countries is inevitable.

President Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction over the current bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan.

He emphasized the importance of diplomatic exchanges and constructive dialogue to enhance cooperation between the two countries. He said both the countries have immense opportunities to enhance cooperation.

On the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi congratulated Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the great victory in the war. He said Pakistan strongly condemned the attack on Iran at every forum.

The Interior Minister said Pakistan's Parliament was the first to pass a resolution condemning the war imposed on Iran and supported Iran's legitimate right to self-defence. He also conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's message of goodwill and best wishes to President Masoud Pezeshkian.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, Pakistan-Iran relations, and bilateral cooperation were discussed in detail.

Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, the Iranian President's Special Assistant, the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, and the Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran were also present at the occasion.

Meanwhile Mohsin Naqvi met with Senior Adviser on International Affairs to Iran's Supreme Leader Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati in Tehran and discussed matters of mutual interest, Pakistan-Iran relations, and the regional situation.

They also held exchanged views on the current situation in the region following the Iran-Israel ceasefire.

The Interior Minister conveyed the best wishes from Pakistan's political and military leadership to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Mohsin Naqvi stated Pakistan and Iran have always stood by each other in both war and peace. He emphasized that no enemy can create a rift between Pakistan and Iran.
