Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired the 7th meeting on strengthening trade and economic engagement with friendly countries, particularly with the EU.
The meeting discussed ways to accelerate trade and economic partnerships with friendly countries, including improving market access, export performance, and coordination among relevant stakeholders. Ishaq Dar stressed the importance of effective follow-up on commitments and conventions under the GSP+ framework as well.
DPM/FM directed all concerned to accord priority to enhancing Pakistan's trade and export performance, ensuring timely implementation of agreed measures, and strengthening coordination to maximise market access and economic opportunities for Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Commerce, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Federal Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Amna Baloch, Federal Secretaries of Commerce, Interior, Pakistan's Ambassador to Brussels, Chairman CDA, and federal and provincial senior officials from concerned ministries and departments.
