Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday held a telephonic conversation with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, during which the two sides reviewed the rapidly evolving regional situation and discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts for peace and stability.
According to the Foreign Office, Kaja Kallas appreciated Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic efforts that culminated in the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). However, she expressed serious concern over recent ceasefire violations and underscored the importance of keeping channels of communication open to prevent further escalation.
During the conversation, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar briefed the EU High Representative on Pakistan’s continued diplomatic initiatives aimed at developing a comprehensive framework for peace and stability in the Middle East.
He emphasized the need for all parties to strictly adhere to the ceasefire agreement and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, de-escalation, and regional peace.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on regional developments.
