ISLAMABAD:Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Foreign Service of Pakistan Day paid tributes to the men and women of Foreign Service.
In his message on the Day, Dar said, 'We pay tribute to the men and women of our Foreign Service, past and present, who have dedicated their lives to advancing Pakistan's national interests and strengthening our relationships with countries across the world. We particularly honour the pioneering officers of the Foreign Service who, in the formative years of our country, worked under extraordinarily challenging circumstances to establish Pakistan's diplomatic presence on the world stage. At a time when Pakistan was finding its place in the international community, they stood at the frontline of our national defence, representing the country with conviction, courage and an unwavering sense of purpose.'
'Over the decades, the Foreign Service of Pakistan has produced generations of distinguished diplomats who have demonstrated exceptional intellect, professional excellence, moral courage, sound judgment and, when circumstances demanded, personal bravery. Through their efforts, Pakistan has strengthened its partnerships, articulated its positions at bilateral, regional and multilateral forums, and safeguarded its national interests in an increasingly complex international environment. Today, our diplomats continue to represent Pakistan with distinction and are playing a vital role in expanding our diplomatic, economic and strategic partnerships, promoting Pakistan's positive image, and advancing our interests and aspirations abroad,' he said.
He maintained, 'This year, the Foreign Service of Pakistan has continued to promote regional peace and stability through sustained diplomacy, dialogue and engagement. Our diplomats have supported Pakistan's facilitation of engagement between Washington and Tehran, culminating in the Islamabad Talks. The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement (Makkah Accord) between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Trkiye has opened further avenues for strategic cooperation, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs playing an important role in carrying this partnership forward. These efforts reflect the professionalism and dedication of its officers in advancing Pakistan's interests abroad. They will continue to build mutual trust, strengthen partnerships and promote the peaceful resolution of disputes.'
'As we look towards the future, we must remain steadfast in meeting emerging foreign policy challenges with unity, professionalism, foresight and determination. Guided by the vision and principles of our founding father, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, we must continue to work towards a Pakistan that is peaceful, progressive, prosperous and respected in the comity of nations. I am confident that, through its continued commitment and conscious pursuit of Pakistan's national objectives, our diplomatic service will continue to make an enduring contribution to a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan,' he concluded.
