Samoa: Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, addressed the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) in Samoa.In his address, DPM Ishaq Dar underscored the crucial role of the Commonwealth Business Forum as a platform for collaboration, trade, and investment, impacting millions across the Commonwealth. To accelerate economic modernization and enhanced productivity across the Commonwealth, he also called for increased investment in digital infrastructure and transformative technologies.DPM Ishaq Dar emphasized the critical importance of transforming the workforce across the Commonwealth. He called for urgent investment in education, skill development, and entrepreneurship to harness the potential of our workforce, which is a key driver of technological innovation and economic transformation.Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to contributing to the prosperity of the Commonwealth and called for a shared vision for sustainable growth, enhanced intra-Commonwealth trade, and econ omic and social progress. He also highlighted Pakistan's national efforts aimed at empowering its workforce and to prepare it for a rapidly evolving global economy.Meanwhile at the Commonwealth Intergenerational Dialogue held in Samoa, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, highlighted the importance of youth leadership in shaping a resilient and inclusive Commonwealth.Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized Pakistan's strong commitment to providing platforms that empower youth to take on leadership roles. In this context, he highlighted initiatives like the Prime Minister's Youth Programme in Pakistan, which has supported millions of young people in education, employment, and engagement.DPM outlined Pakistan's efforts in youth empowerment, including the revision of the Commonwealth Youth Programme Memorandum of Understanding (CYP-MOU) and the launch of the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA).Stating that young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow but are actively contributing to policymaking today, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar commended the contributions of young leaders in climate action and driving digital innovation. He also urged fellow Commonwealth leaders to embrace the youth as partners in building a stronger, more sustainable future and called for continued intergenerational collaboration to ensure lasting progress for the Commonwealth community.Meanwhile Ishaq Dar on Thursday participated in the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) held in Apia, Samoa. The Meeting brought together the Foreign Ministers from across the Commonwealth in the lead up to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to deliberate on key issues facing the Member States.Addressing the Meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister presented Pakistan's perspective on several critical issues on the agenda of the Commonwealth, including resilient peoples and societies, strong democratic institutions, robust economies, and environment. He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, fostering economic growth through inclusive and sustainable development, and addressing the urgent challenge posed by climate change.The Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of collaboration among Commonwealth nations in building societies that can withstand and adapt to global challenges. He also expressed Pakistan's full support to the Commonwealth and its commitment to working with member countries to develop robust solutions to common challenges.
