Islamabad: Secretary General of SAARC, Md. Golam Sarwar, called on Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Ishaq Dar commended the Secretary General's efforts to promote regional cooperation and reaffirmed Pakistan's steadfast commitment to the SAARC process. He underscored the need for a revitalized SAARC, guided by the principles of its Charter, to advance regional connectivity, sustainable development, and the collective well-being of the peoples of South Asia. He highlighted the region's immense demographic and economic potential.

The Secretary General expressed appreciation for Pakistan's consistent support for SAARC and its institutions. He thanked DPM/FM for Pakistan's constructive role in promoting regional and global peace.

Ishaq Dar wished the Secretary General success towards the conclusion of his tenure and conveyed his best wishes for his future endeavors.
