Ishaq Dar reiterates Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause

Jeddah: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar participated in the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held today in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the session Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

Ishaq Dar urged immediate collective action to address the ongoing Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people and safeguarding their rights, including their right to return to their ancestral homeland.

Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the proposal of resettlement of Palestinians in other countries.

Ishaq Dar underscored the imperative for global recognition of Palestine and the establishment of a sovereign and independent State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. Ishaq Dar emphasized the necessity of concrete measures to realize the two-State Solution as the only means of achieving lasting peace in the region.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, a permanent cessation of hostilities, unrestricted humanitarian access and a comprehensive reconstruction plan.

Ishaq Dar also called for decisive diplomatic and economic measures on the part of OIC to hold Israel accountable for its crimes in Gaza and the West Bank.

Welcoming the Gaza Reconstruction Plan prepared by Egypt, Ishaq Dar termed it a balanced, practical, and efficient approach to rebuilding Gaza.

He vowed Pakistan's continuous collaboration with OIC and Arab partners to mobilize global support for the Palestinian right to self-determination, justice and peace as an elected member of the UN Security Council for 2025-26.
