Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday chaired the 48th Steering Committee meeting of the SDGs Achievement Programme to review and to take key decisions relating to the initiative.

Ishaq Dar underscored the importance of community participation in identifying basic development priorities, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively and in the best interest of the people of Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers for Commerce, Communications and Power, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, MNAs Shazia Marri, Ejaz ul Haq, Pullain Baloch, along with the Cabinet Secretary and senior officials from concerned departments.

Meanwhile Ishaq Dar has underscored the importance of regional connectivity in driving economic growth, enhancing trade, and strengthening cultural ties.

He was chairing a briefing session with Resident Ambassadors and representatives of international organizations about the upcoming Regional Transport Ministers Conference scheduled to be held in Islamabad on 23rd and 24th of this month.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the region holds immense potential for fostering cooperation and development through shared infrastructure. He expressed the hope that regional countries will fully participate in the Conference.
