Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi hosted a moot entitled 'Kashmir Conference' to highlight the freedom movement of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with Kashmir Day, February 5, at Idara Noor-e-Haq, the JI Karachi headquarters, here on Monday.Local politicians, civil society representatives, religious scholars, leaders of traders fraternity and others expressed their views at the conference. The speakers collectively urgeed Islamabad to play it's due role for the freedom of India-occupied Kashmir.In his presidential address, JI Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar Khan said that Pakistan is a nuclear power and it is an obligation to the state and the government to fulfill it's responsibilities in connection with completion of incomplete agenda of the inception of Pakistan.He reiterated his stance that the division of the subcontinent was incomplete without liberation of India occupied Jammu and Kashmir.On the occasion, he said that the United Nations failed miserably when it comes to the cause of Kashmir. H e said that the global body has different standards for Muslims and other nations. He also highlighted the examples of East Taimmor to cement his argument.The JI leader paid a rich tribute to freedom fighters of Kashmir and quoted late Syed Ali Gillani as saying that Kashmir would become a part of Pakistan one day. He said that at one hand, the Indian fascist regimes have been crushing the people of Kashmir, whereas on the other hand, the people of Kashmir despite all challenges never accepted the Indian rule.JUP leader Aqeel Anjum Qadri, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali of PPP, AJK, Kashmiri leader Bashir Sadozai, former president Karachi Bar Naeem Qureshi Advocate, Palestine Foundation Pakistan President Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, JUI's Mufti Hammadullah Madni, Shahbaz Abdul Jabbar of Markazi Muslim League, Hafiz Ahmed Ali of JUI, Maulana Abdulsalam Shamzai, Naseer Khan Achakzai of Palhtunkhoa Milli Awani Party, traders leader Mahmood Hamid and others also addressed the conference.
