Islamabad: With the support of SIFC, the IT sector is continuously growing and IT exports are expected to increase to 3.5 billion dollars this year.

Significant achievements have been made in the IT sector under the auspices of SIFC.

The government has set a target of increasing IT-based exports to $15 billion in the next five years, compared to $2.6 billion in the last financial year.

In view of the export potential in the IT sector, the government has allocated a huge amount of more than 79 billion rupees in the current financial year.

According to the Federal Finance Minister, out of the allocated amount of 79 billion rupees, 19 billion rupees will be used for the establishment of IT parks in Karachi and Islamabad, while 22 billion rupees have been allocated for the Pakistan Software Export Board.

Chairman Pakistan IT Industry Association said, “To take full advantage of the potential of the digital economy, we need to improve IT infrastructure and increase skilled manpower.”

He said that there is an
urgent need to increase digital infrastructure and internet connectivity to build the IT sector according to modern industrial standards.

Facilitated by SIFC, the IT sector is growing rapidly and many start-ups have emerged which are introducing themselves globally.
