Lahore: Former prime minister and chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, stated that reducing electricity prices while being under the IMF program was not an easy task. He thanked Allah Almighty for the fulfillment of promises made to the public.Federal Minister for Energy, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, met with PML-N head Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.Nawaz Sharif congratulated the Federal Minister for Energy on the reduction in electricity prices. Speaking with Awais Leghari, the former prime minister said that easing the public's burden brings peace to his heart. He praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team for their efforts. He reiterated that lowering electricity prices during an IMF program was no simple job and expressed gratitude that promises made to the people are being fulfilled.Nawaz Sharif emphasized that the PML-N has always prioritized public relief and national service. "This is our tradition; this is our politics," he added.Sardar Awais Leghari told Nawaz Sharif that his guidance helped Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team succeed. He also briefed the party leader on reforms in the energy sector, the establishment of an open market to further reduce electricity costs, and measures being taken to eliminate electricity theft and permanently resolve the issue of circular debt.Meanwhile Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday met National Party (NP) Chief Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch and assured him of playing an "active role" in addressing issues plaguing Balochistan.The NP delegation included former secretary general Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi, MNA Pullain Baloch, NP Vice President and former MNA Sardar Kamal Khan Bangulzai, provincial president Aslam Baloch, Central Vice President Shahwaz Khan Bizenjo, and NP Punjab President Malik Ayub.Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch briefed the former three-time prime minister on the current situation in the province, with particular reference to the recent wave of arrests and ongoing protests.Talking to journalists after the me eting, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch said the two leaders held a detailed discussion on the situation in Balochistan. "I have requested Nawaz Sharif to play his political role for Balochistan, and he assured me of doing so," he added.Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, who also served as former Balochistan chief minister, said that he had invited the PML-N president to visit Balochistan and hold meetings with local political leaders. 'Nawaz Sharif expressed readiness to visit the province, and his visit is expected soon,' he noted.He said Balochistan's issues were political in nature and required political solutions. 'We strongly condemn the killing of innocent people in Balochistan,' he added.Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch also recalled Nawaz's active political engagement during the 2013 tenure and hoped for similar involvement moving forward. 'We told Nawaz that his role is crucial in resolving the situation in Balochistan.'The former CM Balochistan said that Nawaz Sharif and other party leaders welcomed them warmly in line with traditional hospitality.Meanwhile, PML-N leader Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafique, for his part, said the meeting focused on the current situation in Balochistan. 'Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch urged Nawaz Sharif to step forward politically, and Nawaz Sharif gave a positive response,' he added.
